I don&#8217;t have any proof for this other than my own experience, but I imagine other have seen this as well. When I was an athletic boy I had a real disdain for mental health because my dad was diagnosed with mental illness. I thought it was a personal failing. &#8220;It was a weakness. I mean, who can&#8217;t keep their own head together?&#8221; Yet, only 5 years later I would be working through the exact same illness as my father at mental health facility near Michigan State.
